Canterbury Cathedral select Hiline for underground heating pipework |
For a structure with a history approaching 1,000 years, it was apt that Canterbury Cathedral replaced its underground heating pipework with a system designed for long-term reliability. Clerk of Works for the cathedral Peter Long explained: "The previous pipes appeared to have rotted along the bottom, within the lagging, so that the developing problem was not easily detected. As a result it was decided to replace the previous steel pipes with Hiline pre-insulated polypropylene pipes, thereby eliminating the possibility of any future corrosion."
Peter Long added "This was our first use of Hiline and we found it very easy to install. As a result it was a very successful project. It looks to be an excellent job with the pipes already working well at full pressure." |
Southampton General Hospital to install CPV-Zurn |
CPV-Zurn chemical waste systems have been installed as part of a cardiac revascularisation expansion of the North block of Southampton General Hospital.
George Morgan, a freelance consultant working with project consultants Henderson Green, explained: "The high temperature demineralised water would be very corrosive to traditional waste pipe materials. This led to the CPV-Zurn system being chosen because of its outstanding resistance and robust design." |

CPV now sole UK manufacturer of "imperial" size polypropylene pipes |
With over 60
years in the business CPV now remains as the UK's only manufacturer
of imperial polypropylene pipes and fittings. Pipes, fittings and
valves are available ex-stock in sizes from ½" through to 6" in both

CPV manufacture their largest tank yet |
CPVs 20,000 litre tank was the largest the company has yet manufactured in polypropylene. Actually constructed as a tank within a tank, it holds caustic detergent for dosing to a cleaning-in-place (CIP) system for product pipelines, vessels, and filling machines. CPV supplied the tanks complete with control panels. All three tanks are fitted with telemetry systems to allow remote monitoring of levels by the chemicals supplier, thereby optimising re-ordering and delivery procedures. |
